Kathyrn June Hamlin, 94, of Waltonville, passed away at 5:50 A.M. August 19, 2017 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon. She was born August 5, 1923 in Jefferson County to parents Thomas Moses and Viva Ferne (Isom) Atkins. She married Leroy “Tutor” Hamlin on March 28, 1953 in Kentucky and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1994.

June is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kiselewski of Waltonville; 3 grandchildren, John Vincent Kiselewski and wife, Joyce of Waltonville, Ami Kathyrn Halloran and husband, Geno

of Shiloh, and Chad  Shreves and fiance, Amy Johnson of Mount Vernon; 5 great-grandchildren, Kadin Ryan Kiselewski, Ryker Gehrig Kiselewski, Logan Matthew Halloran, Brady Jack Halloran, and Druw Shreves; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Kristofer Harlow and Kerstie Harlow; brother, Tommy Atkins and wife, Rosemary of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Atkins of Benton;  and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Diana Lynn Shreves; 2 sons-in-law, Rick Shreves, and Jack Kiselewski; 3 brothers, Donald Atkins, Lowell Atkins, and Bobby Atkins; and 2 sisters, Ila Newell and Marie Hall.

June was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Waltonville and loved to play bingo and watch Cardinal Baseball. She had worked for Andy Stevens Grocery in Waltonville for several years and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Visitation: 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois.

Graveside Service: Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois with Mr. James McKinzie officiating.
