Sheryl (Fairchild) Wilderman

February 5, 1950 ~ May 17, 2019 (age 69)

Sheryl Wilderman, 69, of Waltonville, Illinois passed away at 10:24 P.M. May 17, 2019 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born February 5, 1950 in Waltonville to the late Orville "Shorty" and Anna Belle (Braden) Fairchild. Sheryl married Jerry Wilderman on June 13, 1968. They were blessed with nearly 51 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband, Sheryl is survived by her children, Brent Wilderman and wife, Dawn of Bonnie, Illinois, Mindy Gauger of Waltonville, Illinois, and Chad Wilderman and significant other, Tosha Krein of Sandoval, Illinois; grandchildren, Brooke Wilderman and Peyton Wilderman, both of Bonnie, Taylor Gauger of Waltonville, and Mason Wilderman, Carmen Wilderman, and Ryan Wilderman, all of Sandoval; sisters, Shirley Gilbert and husband, Jerry of Bonnie and Nina Fay Ratajczyk and husband, Ronnie of Tamaroa, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sheryl was preceded in death by her siblings, Alden Fairchild, Anna Marie Darrough, Irene Beckham, Barbara Dixon, Lowell Thomas Fairchild, Jackie Fairchild, Bob Fairchild, Meda Beckham, and Ronald Fairchild.

Sheryl worked for many years as a substance abuse tech at Comprehensive Connections in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Waltonville. Sheryl enjoyed to garden, do yard work, and shop. She also loved watching her grandkids play sports. Sheryl was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Visitation will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held: Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Newell Funeral Home with Reverend Curtis Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville. Memorials may be made in Sheryl’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.
