Beverly Kay (Hall) Hodge

April 12, 1938 ~ December 18, 2018 (age 80)

Beverly Kay Hodge, 80, of Waltonville, Illinois passed away at 7:25 P.M. December 18, 2018 at Saint Louis University Hospital. She was born April 12, 1938 in Waltonville, Illinois to the late Felix Ray and Ethel Marie (Atkins) Hall. Beverly married Larry Hodge on June 1, 1957. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 22, 2009.

Beverly is survived by her children, Rhonda Reed and husband, Mike of Benton, Illinois, Greg Hodge and wife, Lonna of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Brian Hodge and wife, Kris of Woodlawn, Illinois; grandchildren, Lara Reed Adams of Maryland, USAF Tech Sgt Eric Reed and wife, Amanda of Andrews Air Force Base, Michael Hodge of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Christina Hodge of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Kourtney Hodge of Woodlawn, Illinois, Shawn Hodge of Woodlawn, Illinois, and Kody Hodge of Woodlawn, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Reed, Colton Reed, Jordan Adams, and Liza Adams; sister, Lisa Urbanski and husband, Anthony of Woodlawn, Illinois; nieces, Lindsey Urbanski and Autumn Urbanski; several other nieces and nephews; and special friend of 55 plus years, Jerry Wiggs.

Beverly was a teacher’s aide for many years, first at Waltonville Grade School and then later retired from Woodlawn Grade School. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #9153 and Freewill Baptist Church in Waltonville. Beverly was an avid Cardinals fan and enjoyed karaoke. She played the piano and loved to entertain at the local churches and nursing homes. Beverly was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

A Greeting of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Beverly’s honor to Knob Prairie Cemetery.
